Cutting and Grinding

Our selection of Cutting and Grinding products include Cut off Wheels, Grinding Wheels, Vitrified Wheels, Hand Stones, Flap Discs, Carbide Burrs, Wire Wheels and much more.

Cutting Wheels

Abrasive cutting wheels are made from grains, fiberglass reinforcing and bonding agents that provide our customers with safe cutting wheels that are ultra-thin for burr free cutting of all metals. Cutting wheels for non-ferrous metals like aluminum and copper to high alloy metals like stainless cut with ease using the right wheel for the right application. We offer diameters from 1” to 16” and a variety of thicknesses and arbor holes based on your machine requirements.

Grinding Wheels

Grinding Wheels

Grinding wheels are used in hand held pneumatic and electric machines to large stationary industrial machines ranging from 4” to 30” in diameter. Most common today is the hand held electric grinders used by metal fabricators and concrete finishers. Grinding of metals during weld preparation using grits 24-46 grits allows for rapid metal removal and options for smooth finishing with finer grits.

Vitrified Wheels

Vitrified wheels used for more Precision Grinding. Available in sizes as small as 2” diameter to 30” diameter. Surface grinders use these wheels for fractional stock removal and precise angles. These wheels are very fragile in nature and sometimes referred to as glass like wheels. Available in multiple colours that symbolize the grain types like Aluminum Oxide-White or Pink, Zirconia-Blue as well as Ceramic in Blue and Orange colours. Your application of aggressive cutting or precision grinding will determine the grit and abrasive grain.

Wire Wheels

Wire Wheels

Wire wheels offer a less aggressive form of grinding that allows for rust, scale or painted surface cleanup without interfering with the original shape of products. Wire wheels come in two main types, carbon steel for basic finishing of most metals or stainless steel used when cleaning stainless steel products to provide non-contaminated surface preparation for welding or weld cleanup.

Flap Discs

Flap Discs are used for quick removal of all metals leaving behind a smoother finish than that of a grinding wheel in similar grits. The layers of coated abrasive wear down exposing new grains for continued grinding and finishing applications. Available in 24-120 grit with sizes of 4”, 4-1/2”,5”, 6” and 7” diameters. Type 29 conical face for finishing applications and type 27 flat face for more aggressive cutting action.

Stones

Stones

Grinding products like abrasives Cones or Stones are primarily used for rough foundry or metal fabrication applications. Found in shapes called Type 16 for bullet shaped end or Type 18 cylinder shape allows users to reach into areas and clean molded shapes. Most common grits as coarse as 16 and 24.

Carbide burrs

Carbide burrs provide a variety of shapes and sizes of cutting heads that meet your profile of parts being ground. Able to reach in difficult areas with extra-long shanks or for micro applications. Carbide burrs are available in different cutting patterns for hard or soft metals. Smaller flutes for harder metals and larger flutes for soft metals like aluminum to reduce clogging of flutes.
