Carbide burrs
Carbide rotary burrs are precision tools designed for cutting, shaping, grinding, and deburring a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Ideal for fabrication, maintenance, die work, and general metalworking, these burrs are made from high-grade tungsten carbide for long-lasting performance and durability.
Shape Designations
Carbide burrs are available in standardized shapes to suit different profiles and grinding needs:
- SA – Cylinder (flat end): Used for surface milling, contouring, and edge work.
- SB – Cylinder with end cut: Similar to SA, but includes flutes on the end for bottom-facing operations.
- SC – Ball nose cylinder: Ideal for contouring and radiusing edges.
- SD – Ball: Used for deburring and finishing in rounded or curved surfaces.
- SE – Oval (egg): Suitable for chamfering and surface blending.
- SF – Tree (radius end): Excellent for rounded contours and interior curves.
- SG – Tree (pointed end): Used for narrow angles and tight access areas.
- SH – Flame: Great for detailed shaping and deburring in hard-to-reach spaces.
- SJ – 60° Cone: Used for chamfering and countersinking.
- SK – 90° Cone: Ideal for sharp V-notches and acute angle cutting.
- SL – Inverted Cone: Designed for rear-side chamfering and notch cutting.
Cut Styles
We stock the two most commonly used cut patterns:
- Double Cut: Features a cross-cut tooth pattern that provides smoother control and a finer finish. Ideal for general-purpose deburring and metal removal on hard materials such as steel, stainless, and cast iron.
- Single Cut: Offers a single flute pattern for faster stock removal and longer chip flow. Best suited for use on softer metals such as aluminum, brass, and copper.
Other specialized cuts are available upon request, including:
- INOX Cut: Designed specifically for stainless steel and other hard-to-machine alloys. Offers reduced vibration and longer tool life on tougher metals.
Shank Lengths
To accommodate different job requirements, we stock burrs in two shank configurations:
- Standard Length: Suitable for most handheld and machine-mounted applications.
- Extended Reach (6″ Shank): Allows access to deep cavities, channels, and hard-to-reach areas without compromising control or rigidity.
